The Bryan Bickell Charity Classic golf tournament began in the summer of 2011 as an idea by Bryan and his wife Amanda. The goal of the first event was to help create awareness and raise funds for various charities within the local community. Bryan credits his hometown of Orono, Ontario with helping his professional hockey career and to show his gratitude he wanted to do give back. This year marks the 7th annual event where 160 golfers will tee up to participate in the tournament which has raised over $100,000 for local food banks, Orono Minor Hockey, anti-bullying initiatives, testicular cancer, and pit bull awareness.
